# Pre-Roll Stopped Working After Last Update

I’m at a loss. I successfully implemented a pre-roll that ran without issue before each movie. After the last Plex Media Server update my pre-roll stopped working. I’ve tried everything I can think for from moving the pre-roll file to a new library, updating the link in PMS (too many times to count), compressing the file in handbrake, creating a new pre-roll, etc. For the life of me I can’t figure out why it stopped and why I can’t make it work again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the past, apparently some Plex apps required you to enable Cinema Trailers and set it to play at least one Trailer in order for the pre-roll to work. Maybe they’ve made that happen in all apps?

So try enabling Trailers and see if the pre-roll functions then.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why they would do that. They should be completely independent. If the server owner sets a pre-roll, users should not be able to disable it.

I tried enabling trailers by checking all three boxes and then setting the number of trailers to play at 2. Still no luck. Thanks for the suggestion though.
