# Problem with downloaded playlists?

I feel like I must be missing something as my downloaded playlist is not behaving as I expected it would. Hopefully others can clarify whether I am missing something or this is just how it currently works.

I’m coming from Google Play Music, because YouTube Music.

I’ve downloaded a playlist in Plexamp. It has 57 tracks, about 3 hours. When I go to the Downloads section and tap on the playlists it starts to play a track from the list and shows me the song info screen. Problems:

- I can’t find a way to view the list of tracks in the downloaded playlist. Am I missing it?
- Tapping on the playlist appears to make it start playing a random track from the list. I would expect it to start with the first track in the list. I am not selecting Shuffle.
- Tapping the |\< icon goes to the beginning of the track, but double tapping it does not go to the previous track
- Tapping the \>| icon goes to a random track in the list, rather than the next tech in the list. I am not selecting Shuffle.

Are others seeing these same issues?

I am seeing it, although it isn’t an ‘issue’ as such. It’s designed that way I think you’ll find.

will be added in the future.

default action is shuffle.

there’s no repeat option yet, so the start of the list is the start and we don’t wrap around.

yeah, again because it’s shuffling by default.

if you long press and Play instead it’ll resolve some of these.

Thanks for the quick reply. Long press and Play seems to work for me on my phone. Any idea if there is a way to do this with Android Auto on a head unit, since there is no “long press” on the head unit?

Also, do you have plans to make shuffle an on/off option like it is in most other players or will you keep it the way it is and always require the long press to turn shuffle off?

With Android Auto we will be adding the ability to browse into downloads so you can play/shuffle from the get-go. And also shuffle/repeat buttons, hopefully.

Yes, indeed! The long press and Play for playing a downloaded Playlist in sequence (not shuffle) is not working for me. I’m on iOS 14. It would be so useful to just have downloaded playlists in the same working format as streaming playlists. Tap it and you see your list of songs, then you select play, shuffle, select specific track, etc… thank you! Keep up the great work Plex devs!
