Problem with MP3 tags and Plex identifing them

Server Version#:4.76.1

I can’t figure it out. I have ~80 live concert recordings, all MP3s, All are in one directory and I’m trying to add them to a library “Concerts”. Each file name is “Performer - Month Year” MP3 tags are verified as being populated: title & album (the same), artist and album artist (the same), track number (all are track 1), no disc number.

In one post I saw someone note that “‘Album Artist’ and ‘Album Title” must have identical content in all files in this folder…

I don’t understand why Plex won’t just load the folder witht the 80 independent MP3s in it, and I have no idea how to get it to recognize these concert recordings. It makes little sense to put each one into it’s own seperate folder, but is this what I have to do?

Any suggestions most welcome!

So where does PLEX come up with the “Album” tag? The file shown under the folders display reflects an Album that isn’t anywhere within the tags of the specific .MP3 file?

So lacking any other suggested approaches, I re-structured the 80 concert mp3s into ~70 directories named for the artist, and moved the concert MP3s into those sub-directories. It’s better, but the “Album” tag is still screwed-up when there are multiple concerts under one artist. Regardless of what the MP3 actually has as it’s internal “album:” tag, all are taged in PLEX with “album” as the last one in the folder. Argh!
