Problems with Settings page not found

I've been having problems with the Plex server and remote connections on a new router, and no my Plex seems completely FUBAR. I deleted and installed a fresh Plex Media Server, started it up.... Plex reports the new service isn't up. When I look at the service, via the browser:

http://127.0.0.1/web/index.html#!/settings/server

I get:

"You must be lost."
"This page doesn't exist."

This is using the pulldown menu Plex > Preferences....

I've never seen this before, and regardless of any remote access problems I've had I've always been able to access plex locally or on the local lan.

That url does not look right - it should have port 32400

Could you get a screenshot
Also get the server logs
See https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/

Could you first try ‘http://127.0.0.1:32400/web’
And then click on settings

My mistake: The 32400 was there, but damn Safari was hiding it.

The underlying problem is that the server hadn’t fully started up. It seems the server is taking several minutes before it is ready to handle requests (noticeably longer than when I original installed the server).

I research why, using the logs referenced above. I’m in there already trying to track down the remote access issues I’m having.

Thanks,

There has been a number of database schema changes recently which would delay the availability of the server until the database changes are completed

For Remote Access use a dhcp reserved local IP and a port forward in the router and manually specifying the public port in server settings would be the more reliable option

for troubleshooting - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

If you have issues - raise a separate forum topic with appropriate title for the problem
