# Problems with subtitles

If I don’t hard-code my subtitles (srt) to a moviefile, a lot of subtitles are missing (jumped over) when I watch the movie. That goes every time I don’t do this. Very annoying.

so…
does Plex see your SRT subtitles / are they showing in the Plex Web subtitle selection?
do you have automatic selection for subtitles enabled (account settings -\> audio & subtitle settings)?

Do you mean that you can see the subtitle in general during playback, but some lines are omitted?
If so, load the subtitle file into [Subtitle Edit](http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit "Subtitle Edit"), trigger the ‘Fix Common Errors’ and look out for errors of the type ‘Overlapping display time’.
Let Subtitle Edit correct these, then save the changes.
Stop playback, start ‘Analyze’ on the item in question, then start playback and see if you still have some lines missing.

The srt subtitled are shown but suddenly they disappear in one or a couple of sentences and then show up again and so on for the rest of the movie.
I’m from Denmark and therefore I chose danish subtitles.

Did you check and repair them with Subtitle Edit as instructed?

Yes, some of the Lines are omitted.
There’s nothing wrong with the subtitles! The error/bug must be in the way Plex is showing subtitles. When I watch movies directly from my nas I don’t experience any subtitle-problems like I do in plex.

I don’t no why, but I replied you via the mail I received when you replied on this forum. I attached a srt file. But It seems that the plex mail system doesn’t work (too). It was all returned to me.

I wanna look further into the other system Emby and hope It works better than Plex. As I told some times now: plex doesn’t work well with subtitles.
