Good morning everyone, If anyone have tried the DVR & Live TV feature on Plex with the (Hauppauge Freeview HD TV for Xbox One) I have a QNAP NAS TS - 251+ running an embedded Linux 4.3.3. I looked on the compatible list that plex provide for the supporters devices but the (Hauppauge Freeview HD TV for Xbox One) say only Windows and Linux. Does embedded Linux is considerate as Linux?
Nope, bug your NAS vendor to add USB Tuner support, only they can do it.
What about if I run a virtual machine, install Plex server and then setup the Live TV & DVR. Could that work? A virtual machine running Windows 10 would have the necessary Drives and it should read the Hauppauge Freeview HD TV for Xbox One without any issues correct?
I would assume, as long as the virtual machine gets direct access to USB.
Yes, I just finished chatting with a QNAP technical support and they suggested to either run a Windows VM or an Ubuntu VM due to the fact that Hauppauge doesn’t have a qpck package to install the necessary drivers.
