# Quality settings advice

Hi Everybody,
Hope you are all staying safe. I was wondering if i should try and set my remote streaming qualities a little higher. My internet speed is **30 Mbps** upload. which I know is one of the key factors, and is not that fast. I have the auto adjust quality turned on (Beta). I normally only have about 4 people at a time remotely stream, and a lot times only half of that.
I currently have my remote quality settings at 720p 4 Mbps. My question is, would I be able to set it at 1080p 8 Mbps, would plex automatically adjust it accordingly? Has anyone tried this? Just trying to get plex to do less transcoding when possible. Appreciate the feedback. FYI: 8 core ryzen cpu / 32 gigs ram.

I am currently trying just setting my maximum upload speed to a little shy of my max and setting remote bit rate to original. That way if one person is using it, it will buffer for them as fast as possible. Just make sure the client is also set to original. It is not by default. So far, so good.

Thanks for the input, guess the best way to find out is to try it. The way I understand it plex should adjust it anyway. Maybe not. Lol

Anybody that is interested, I have tried this. I set my remote settings to max, then had my users put their remote settings on original or max depending on their device. This hasn’t been tested a lot or with a big number of users but it seems to work. Seeing a little more direct streaming,
