New to this plex world and amazed by the work you do. I'm facinated when small devices produce run great software.

Tested the new version and would like to inform about the following regression.

For some reason playback for wtv files does not work anymore. Pasplex displays a red "unsupported message in lower right corner".

wtv worked well on 0.4.1 and 0.4.1 still works with server 0.9.11.7.803....

wtv files are a product of windows media center recordings from live tv.

Keep up the excellent work!

Have you purchased licences for the raspberrypi.org codecs, if so did you previously add them to your config.txt file - check the contents of the config.txt file to see if the licence info is still there.

According to this article [http://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2012/08/27/video-windows-media-center-recored-tv-files-playing-on-a-raspberry-pi/](http://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2012/08/27/video-windows-media-center-recored-tv-files-playing-on-a-raspberry-pi/) you need the licences to play .wtv files.

Unfortunately I don't have any .wtv files to test.

Hi,

There was a bug with our update server that would make it possible to update backwards to 0.4.1

The bug has [been fixed](https://github.com/RasPlex/rasbot/commit/5a044c559fde016e278837a3c359ebc36b43c1b4). If you're currently stuck on 0.4.1, you may need to either reflash a fresh 0.5.0 image (simpler), or if you want to preserve your settings etc, you can remove the update manifest as follows:

1. Install PuTTY on windows for an SSH client (linux and OS X have an ssh client built into the terminal). You can [download PuTTY here](http://http//www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html), and [here's a tutorial](http://support.suso.com/supki/SSH_Tutorial_for_Windows) if you've never used it before. On linux or OS X, just open a terminal and run "ssh plexuser@your-pi's-ip-address', and enter 'rasplex' as the password as below.

2. SSH into your raspberry pi using the username "plexuser", and the password "rasplex". You can get the IP address of your Raspberry pi from "System Settings", or from your router.

3. Remove the manifest with this commands:

'su' - type rasplex again to become root

'rm /storage/.plexht/userdata/plexupdateinfo.xml'

After removing this manifest, you should be able to correctly update to 0.5.0 and stay an 0.5.0.

Our old update server was falling over from the load of all of the update requests, so we had to switch to a new update server for this release that is substantially faster and more reliable, but unfortunately this bug was a side effect of the switch.

This bug should only be possible if you manually selected the 'prerelease' channel and requested an update, anyone still on the stable channel shouldn't have gotten the update yet.

I'v very sorry for the inconvenience here guys, I hope you enjoy the new release and don't have any more issues updating.

-Dale

Hi gents,

I'm encountering a trancoding error using 0.5.0. Looking at the logs, it seems that Plex Media Server (I'm running the latest 9.11.7) does not recognise my Pi anymore.

Log Snippet:

Based on the log data, it seems that 0.5.0 does not have a transcoder profile, and therefore causing the transcode operation to fail.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? It would seem that simply adding a transcoder profile will fix this issue...

Thanks,

Ian

Hi,

I have a bug with the new home user functions in 0.5.0:

-When booting the RPi the login page loads as normal, however I am unable to use the "Navigation remote" option in the iOS plex app until a user has logged in manually - which in my case involves a USB keyboard. Its like it wont allow remote control of rasplex until a user has logged in with a fixed input device - not a WiFi controller...

Any ideas?

Cheers

The Plex for iOS client has not yet been updated to include Plex Home, this may be the cause of the issue. Do you have a CEC enabled TV, if so use the TV remote.

No, the fanouts should be functioning for everything.

Have you logged in to MyPlex? Did you try precaching?

Hello all,

I also want to use Rasplex instead of OpenELEC + PlexBMC + TV Headend.

Could someone please tell me, what the latest version of Rasplex is !?

Because on [https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/releases](https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/releases) all newer releases are dated 13.04.2014 !?

I guess the latest is 0.5.0 but I just want to make sure ! :-)

Thanks a lot!
