# Reading video file metadata

You missed a few steps - and The [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) won’t work without doing them:

> - empty trash, clean bundles \<----ALARM!
> - verify the file’s metadata and return it to its destination folder
> - scan library files

If you don’t dump the old bundle - Plex stupidly keeps right on using it.
