I think this feature suggestion is relevant.

> Please add the ability to sort movies by Folder or File modified date. This will allow movies to be sorted by when they were added to the ‘Movies’ library or folder. Love Plex, and have a lifetime Pass. I like to see my Movies by ‘Date Added’ to my Library, so as I add new movies I see them First. The built in ‘Date Added’ sort only takes into account when the Movies was added to the current Plex database on the server. For various reasons, I’ve had to rebuild my Plex Movies Folder, recently …

In practice I think this would be messy.

With some scripting I think you could subvert the existing `added_at` field for this purpose. You could manipulate the database, joining metadata\_items ↔ media\_items ↔ media\_parts, updating metadata\_items.added\_at to match media\_parts.created\_at (or updated\_at).

Or, and probably cleaner, your automation tools could trigger a script when items are refreshed/upgraded, which could add those items to a “Fresh!” collection in Plex.
