# Recommended device for 3 simultaneous 4K transcodes (Plex Pass)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a **compact and efficient** Plex Media Server device that can handle **3 simultaneous 4K transcodes** smoothly. I have a **Plex Pass** , so I want to make full use of **hardware transcoding** (Intel QuickSync, NVIDIA NVENC, or any other optimized solution).

I’m considering:

- **A mini PC with an Intel 12th/13th/14th-gen CPU** (QuickSync support)
- **A small form factor device with a discrete GPU (RTX 3060 or higher)**
- **An NVIDIA Shield TV Pro** (not sure if it’s powerful enough for this workload)

Which option would be the best for **reliable 4K HDR transcoding** with minimal power consumption? Are there any recommended **mini PC builds** with a powerful iGPU or a small but efficient dedicated GPU?

I have, for development purposes, a  
`Beelink Mini PC, Mini S12 Pro Intel 12th N100(Up to 3.4GHz)`

It does an excellent job.

If you consider the SFF solutions, avoid the N150 CPU for the time being.  
The transcoder is not fully supporting it yet.
