Recording sports events leads to Transcoder error

Hello, I’ve been experiencing trouble recording all sports events on plex. With all normal tv shows working like normal (office, king of the hill, etc.) Once creating a recording for any sports event, plex will instantly say there’s an transcoder error. I use IPTV, with Threadfin (based on XteVe).

Server specs:
OS: Windows
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: RTX 2070
RAM: DDR3 1200

Server Version: 1.32.5.7349

I’ve tried various things, such as changing the drive which the recording is going to be on. Changing transcoders temp files to different drives. Checking the permissions for plex on those drives. Turning off hardware accelerated transcoder settings. And turning off windows defender.

Log when starting recording:

Any help is appreciated

Iptv is not officially supported, so you may be better of asking on Reddit maybe.

I’m using iptv also (official xteve) and my guess is that it’s your sports channels that are more unstable, hence you get these problems.

The problem is that Plex is not optimised for IPTV. It does not expect that a channel will be even slightly unstable, and as such the client will error out very easily.

This affects the recordings obviously, and I personally don’t try it anymore. The DVR is simply to easy to error out.

Thanks for the reply, but yeah I’m aware that iptv isn’t really supported. Breathing on it the wrong way seems to break it lol. But it seems with the latest plex update, the majority of the channels that were having issues have been recording successfully. Just found it odd that it was only certain sports channels such as ESPN or Fox Sports.

Can you view them normally in Plex without recording?

Yeah, I usually record just so I can jump around games and don’t lose my place.
