Server Version#: 4.138.0
Player Version#:
\<If providing [server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only [debug logging](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/#toc-1) should be enabled\>

I have a show (InuYasha) and seasons 4-7 are numbered correctly in their filenames, but the Plex Agent is grabbing the wrong metadata for them

Names are in this format:
InuYasha - SXXEXX - EpisodeName.mkv

S4E01 is still Episode 1 but given the metadata for E02, E02 given metadata for E03, etc
And S07 is treated like InuYasha: The Final Act, which is actually a different show entirely.

TVDB is correct, as is IMDB which matches. Without manually renaming everything, how can I fix this? I also don’t want to manually edit the thumbnails.

I’ve tried [using .plexmatch files](https://support.plex.tv/articles/plexmatch/), and [putting the IMDB and TVDB ID’s as the title and then refreshing metadata](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201018497-fix-match-match/) to no avail.

Please help I’m going crazy here, it’s wild that there’s no simple way to just define or ‘fix match’ a single episode.

Forget the numbering on IMDB or Wikipedia etc. Plex doesn’t use them.

Compare the existing numbering schemes of [TheMovieDB.org](http://TheMovieDB.org) and [TheTVDB.com](http://TheTVDB.com) with your files.
Now edit the show at its highest level, go to the Advanced tab, and set “Episode Ordering” to whichever suits your files.
If your files don’t fit to any of the orderings on offer, rename your files.

The show is set to use TVDB (Aired) which is correct on TVDB, but the problem remains.

Perform the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064).
Or show the folder structure where you have your files stored. It is of importance, particularly with series.

On a whim I switched it from Aired to DVD–they are both the same episode order in TVDB–and that fixed the metadata/order:man\_facepalming:🤷‍♂️ Changing it back to Aired breaks it again. Not sure why plex is pulling incorrect data from TVDB but oh well. And Thanks for the [plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) link, that is useful info to have!
