# Refresh Rating System

The internal rating system doesn’t seem to help very much. Could you do away with the current one and let us log into rotten tomato or IMDB so our ratings actually mean something that helps give real input on movies and shows?

What is your actual suggestion here?
Plex user ratings should be shared with RT / IMDb? If so… what rating would you like to see inside Plex?
I think this has been requested before in this thread (focusing on IMDb)… at least it seems to be one aspect of that suggestion.

Notwithstanding @tom80H questions I immediately read it as you referring to removal of the star rating that allows us to set our own rating for own our media?
If so then definitely not…EVER!
The only person who’s opinion that I care about (of the media I watch) is my own.

If an integration was made to sync ratings to IMBD or other platforms, then Plex could be a large source of user ratings on those platforms. It would just be nice to have a quick and easy way to do this within Plex instead of having to go to the site to make a rating.
My vision would be if you do a rating in Plex and have synced to an outside rating system (or multiple), then the option to post rating to that platform would display. Following, it would be ideal if Plex noted you had a review left on that movie already; maybe pulled in at a meta field, so any guests watching on your server can see your reviews.

Which – as per your suggestion – requires an account with IMDb and a (Plex) user’s consent to share their information with IMDb (or alternatively to Rotten Tomatoes as per this thread’s OP)

Unless I’ve missed some unique aspect, I suggest you comment/vote in that other existing thread to avoid further distracting or cannibalizing the votes among yourselves (closing this one as a duplicate).
