# Remember subtitle settings doesn't work

Plex on Nvidia Shield never remembers subtitle settings. Checking “always use these settings” (of whatever the text is) does nothing. Every time I resume the movie I have to reconfigure subtitle styles.

can you clarify what settings you are changing exactly?
- There are language/subtitle settings on the Plex account itself for overall default behavior about showing subs and what language to use.
- It’s possible to set an “override” preference on a specific TV show, to use different behavior, but that is only for that one TV series (does not apply to movies either).
- if you manually change the settings on a single item that default behavior no longer applies to that item anymore, and it will instead stay on whatever you set on future plays until changed by you.

I’m changing the subtitle styles: color, position, and background. I’m doing it either from within the movie after starting it, or from the hamburger menu on the movie before starting it. Either way, every time I start or resume the same movie the subtitle styles have reverted to the default values. Checking “always use these settings” makes no difference.

This is _not_ what happens. It does _not_ stay on whatever I set. That’s the bug I’m reporting.
