# Remote access impossible

I’m unsure why, but whatever I have tried (including using a VPN) has failed to fix the issue of Plex refusing remote access.

This was the only reason I set this server up so I’m extremely disappointed. At this point I have decided to cancel Plex pass and switch to a different service altogether.

Has anyone else found it impossible to remotely connect?

What have you tried to get it setup?

When you forwarded a port, without vpn, did it show open? [https://canyouseeme.org/](https://canyouseeme.org/)

Could you hit your server via its public ip and the port you forwarded?

What ISP do you have? Are you DoubleNAT/CGNAT?

HI, thats for the reply but I have switched to Navidrome and Symfonium. It took me about half an hour to set up and works perfectly.

I spent weeks working on Plex trying to get it to work properly and honestly I’m so glad I decided to give up and try something else.

I have cancelled plex pass and am now going to delete my account. Never been happier lol
