Question about remote access. I run my Plex server through my NAS.I had an Internet outage the last two days. All of a sudden, my remote access won’t work. I’ve double triple checked my port forwarding credentials. The remote screen shows that it has full accessibility for remote access in green yet where the IP addresses are for private in public there is a red X. I have ran every troubleshooting that I know how to do, i double triple check the port forwarding, restarted internet router modem, NAS I even took down the actual server address on my phone and took off the Wi-Fi, and I was able to access it that way. So I don’t know what’s going on. Can somebody please help me?

I’ve actually been getting the same issue the last few days or so. It states fully accessible and is indeed accessible from the outside world, however it says unknown public and private IP…

Have you gotten a work around with this yet?

As I have stated, my remote access is actually working, its just showing up as a bit wonky within Plex itself, so I’ve not needed a workaround.

Have you actually checked to see if you can actually access your server externally?

Does this URL work for you?

I can’t access the remote access at. Now if I put in the plex IP address with the 32400 port on my phone without WiFi I can access it. But for some reason I can’t access it like normal. This started today. The private and public ip addresses always have the red X. No addresses are showing

> Using the latest PMS - once again remote access has been a bit of a pain for about the last 20 minutes. Playing tracks via Sonos is intermittent, frequently coming up can’t connect to Plex, and then when trying to browse it as a media source getting either “Unable to browse music” or “Unable to connect to the Plex Media Service, Please check your server settings at [plex.tv](http://plex.tv) and make sure remote access is enabled”. It is. The port is forwarded and is working correctly, nothing has changed from th…

I’m having the exact same issue. Plex sometimes detects/shows my private and public IPs correctly, and other times they both show as Unknown after restarting Plex.

I’ve tried different Plex versions, different router firmware, and even different Ethernet drivers, but the issue still comes and goes. My port forward itself is working and Plex can be fully accessible externally when the IPs are detected properly.

It really seems like Plex is intermittently failing to detect/register the IPs correctly rather than an actual port forwarding issue.

no issues with remote access at all here. Also ancient Pms 1.41.1.9057 (no i am not “upgrading”).
The issue i have is the insane long load time and almost for ever spinning circle on blank page accessing Plex in browser (lan addr).

Backend issues at Plex. Should be resolved.

I honestly thought I did post a “we’re investigating this” but looks like I didn’t. Sorry for about that. When this thread initially started there was a backend issue that was DNS related that was quickly resolved but probably needed some time before it propagated out to everyone. This incident should have triggered a update to the our statu…
