Remote Access totally broken, but I can access remotely using my IP

Are these YaHa and Extra ?

Would need logs with debug enabled and ideally covering the time when remote access dropped

Both of these 2 servers appear online according to plex.tv
Have not come across a server with 7 network adapters before !

(suggest you purge old servers from your account - load plex web, select settings and the click on Authorized Devices and filter the view selecting Server and remove old dead servers

Found the problem.

As some stage when trying to move server to a different volume I created a new Yaha.

That yaha did not have the appropriate friends permissions folder ticked.

ā€œA server with 7 network adaptersā€ ??
Do you mean 7 servers??

No

plex.tv had list of local IP Addresses for one of your servers and there were 7 ! Like having 7 network interfaces. Just checked now and it is 6

Local Addresses 192.168.1.11, 10.0.5.1, 10.0.3.1, 192.168.1.10, 192.168.2.12, 192.168.1.12

Oh Ok,

They are my NAS IP’s 1.10,1.11,1.12 are on board adapters,
2.12 is my AP.
and the 10’s are (lxcbr0) and (docker0)

! could drop two of the 1.10 or 1.11 or 1.12 but the others gotta stay (I think)

That is ok - just intrigued why so many

You will have to stick to using a Port Forward going to the NIC you choose and making sure the IP for that subnet is fixed

There is no guaranteed way of getting a specific NIC being used for any automatic uPnP port mapping - despite recent changes to Plex media server in this area

Plex Media (3.6 MB)

Once again, the port is open, but plex refuses to connect.
someone trying to remotely watch something sent me this. I have no idea why it would show them an internal IP when they’re not on my LAN.

So I have this problem as well and only 2 things changed on my win 7 64 bit system. I downloaded and installed the new server and I installed Dec 2018 Security-only patch. I too have IP access and am able to download via tokens, but IOS and Roku players would show offline. I will be troubleshooting next week.

UPDATE - I updated the server to 1.14.1.5488 and possibly unrelated installed KB4483187 (Cumulative IE patch) and initial testing shows things working. Release log for 1.14.1.5488 included ā€œImprove robustness when routers fail to respond to port-mapping refresh requests in time (#9107)ā€. The initial update of 1.14.1.5488 did fail and I had to do a subsequent manual update (repair). But as I said initial testing via my cellular carrier (for external) and via Roku (for internal) both work.

UPDATE 2 - After working for a few days, I’m back to the same problem. Now trying to re-install .5470 as suggested below.

UPDATE 3 - Very strange. Management page shows Remote Access is not working (Red X). Can still get to remote management pages via 32400 from outside, tokens work for download AND IOS and Roku clients are working fine both internally and externally. I’ll stick with it working for now.

I let it sit all night, and I still can’t get remote access to show as available (or work), despite the port clearly being open to the Internet.

I can connect to my plex instance from my WAN_IP:PORT from a work PC, and the port checker tool says it’s open, so clearly it is. I can’t make it any more ā€œopenā€, Plex needs to fix their code.

This worked fine for years, now it doesn’t work at all… If more devices could use the Emby player, I’d move the rest of my users and never look back, that’s how disgusted I am at this point…

I ran into what appeared to be the same remote access issue when I installed v 1.14.0.5487. No matter what I did the remote access did not work or stay green. By rolling back to v 1.14.0.5470 the remote access worked and stayed green.

About a month ago there was a similar issue with remote connections not working which was fixed as per

Perhaps another break happened between the versions?
