# Remote Access turns itself off.

Twice in past two days. No restarts or updates server-side. Cycling Remote Access (off then back on) in Server Settings seems to fix it. I believe its only started happening with the latest version: 1.6.1.3722 (plex pass docker).

so you have the server logs from when this happened?

In fact, I do (attached). Right now I have one remote connected watching a TV show. Server settings show that Remote Access is not available while it’s clearly streaming. The only reason I have noticed is this person contacted me last night trying to get in and again just before I posted today. I cycled the button when she messaged me. It’s since gone back to being red.

Same thing happening here–of course everything worked just fine until I decided to get rid of those annoying GD popups to upgrade the server. BOOM! No remote access. That’ll teach me to upgrade to the latest update that only seems to fix a problem for Windows that doesn’t touch my Mac. #$&%^@\*

There are issues with remote access showing incorrectly on the sever setting page. If you go to [canyouseeme.org](http://canyouseeme.org) and enter the port, is it successful (or just try to access your Plex server remotely via your phone or another device that is not connected to your home network)? That happens to me sometimes, and even though it says remote access isn’t working it actually is working.

I have remote users who are reporting that the server is not visible so it’s clearly not just a display issue in all cases. I rolled back to 1.5.5.3634 and it appears to be working now.

ATM I am running 3 servers. A windows PC and 2 Shields.
Windows 1.6.0 (updating to 1.6.1 now) and the Shields - the latest
Plexpy messages me saying remote access is down, then back up - usually they are down for a few minutes.
In the last 24 hours 1 shield(16gb) was down 3x for almost an hour each time
The other Shiled (pro) was down (at a differnt time) for 3 minutes.
And the PC down once for 1 minute!
The PC is my main server and the other 2 are backup and specialized and hardly get used. We know the Shields have issues so this could be yet another bug!

Working again. Go figure. After my initial attempts to get it back, I gave up. Doing nothing makes it work I suppose. :\
