I have upgraded from DSM 6 → DSM 7 and was able to get my PMS back in order. Is it now safe to remove the Plex account from my NAS, as long as I leave the PlexMediaServer account? I don’t remember seeing this addressed anywhere, most of everything I’ve read is about fixing issues w/ the upgrade permissions. Thanks, and sorry if this is already covered (which I’m sure it probably is). –jb ---

Like I said, I do NOT have any issues after the migration as I took care of the permission problems. And, as I mentioned in my post, I do not want to do anything with the PlexMediaServer user at all. I simply wanted to know if I could remove the old Plex user after the upgrade & It sounds like that’s a go. Thanks. ---

I almost chimed in earlier, but decided to refrain until more knowledgeable people affirmed. I did read up the entire migration article, and it mentions several times that the Plex SHARE is abandoned, and can be freely deleted or used, but I didn’t find any mention of the Plex user. Since there is a new user used by the new install, I thought it’d be fine to eliminate the old user that isn’t used. ---

Indeed, divideby0. I also assumed it would be safe to do, but after the DSM7 upgrade I’m done w/ assumptions for a bit, lol. ---
