chrome web client says there is a server update, but zypper plex repos says not. why is this happening again?
installed version 4.159.0 or 1.42.2.10156 and available version in plex repo is some funky version: 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c
The first number you are showing looks more like a client and the second number is a Plex Media Server version.
In Settings → [Server Name] → General (Show Advanced), what is your “Server update channel” set to?
If it’s set to Beta, it will show that there’s an update available. However, the repos only provide public updates.
However, 1.41.1.10611 is the current public release; I would expect at least that to be available in the repos.
channel is ‘Public’, the only choice in dropdown.
zypper repo is set to:
4 | PlexRepo | PlexRepo | Yes | (r ) Yes | Yes | https://downloads.plex.tv/repo/rpm/x86_64/
which has worked until now. except when it didn’t, a couple years ago, when updates were not being uploaded to repo, for days.
why, when did the change to repo?
Thanks.
