# Request: Option to transcode before play now

I would like to add the option to start the transcoding of a video as soon as I go into the summary screen. Not sure if this would help with the buffer delay on the roku but after reading the summary and hitting play now it would essentially be ready to stream. Would be similar to those internet accelerator apps that start caching links on websites while you read the main content. If I went back to the movies screen the PMS would timeout the transcode after 20 seconds or so.
Not sure if this would help as it may be the roku's buffer needing to be filled as opposed to PMS but it's an idea.
