I tried renaming the music folder and doing the [Plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064), renaming it back and doing an update and it didn’t work. There has got to be a way to update mp3 metadata and get Plex to pick it up without having to do all this; this is ridiculous.

I started what turned out to be a pretty long [discussion](https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/242023/origin-of-the-plex-dance "discussion") about this. The bottom line is, Plex doesn’t think a non-functioning Refresh feature is a bug, even though the workaround for it (the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064)) is data-destructive.
