I don’t have anything new to say that others aren’t saying, just piling on. For the Roku app, the change in UI as it relates to finding and playing from local libraries is horrible. It requires more clicks, and more scrolling, and the change to a horizontal scroll bar of libraries is bad.

I ONLY use my libraries, I don’t use any of the other Plex “features” and now navigating my libraries and switching between them is a pos experience. It feels like they are now an after thought over the content they want to provide to me. The only reason why I use and paid a lifetime for Plex is to more easily access my content and they are like eff you watch our crap instead. Truely pissed off over this new and improved experience.

Oh and it looks like I can no longer rescan my libraries from the Roku app either. Absolutely maddening! Unusable pos redesign.

I have been a big proponent for Plex on our Podcast and YT channel for years. That will stop today. This “update” is, as everybody else says, horrendous. You can bet my 150K viewers & listeners are gonna hear about it. I hate to say it but I’m really considering going back to Kodi or figuring out Jellyfin at this point and I have a lifetime sub to Plex.

I do like occasionally rescanning libraries directly from the Roku app instead of my PC where the content is stored

Ugh, This is awful. I did find the re scan button. You have to hover over the Library in the top bar that keeps disappearing and reappearing. and push the \* on the remote. Took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to view movies by Title. Yah this needs to get redone it is bad enough to make me want to switch to jellyfin.

I wish I didn’t purchase the lifetime pass so I could cancel and they’d at least see one drop in revenue.
This is pure greed. They don’t make anything off people streaming their own media from their own server, ie THE ENTIRE REASON I GOT IT!
I don’t care about Live TV, On Demand, or Discover. I just want my libraries to be easy to access and not take a damn guide to navigate thru!

Please change back to the previous UI. The new UI is not customizable and doesn’t refresh when I click on a menu item. It’s not intuitive and really difficult to navigate.

Another “thumbs down” vote for this update. Like many others it has made using my local library _much_ worse than before. Why do companies do things like this? Who thought this was a good idea and why? Very frustrating. I hope they fix it or go back to the old setup.

Premium user since 2012 - Adding my disdain for this Roku update. I can’t even re-order the servers I have access to in the UI and the scrolling thing is terrible. Whoever designed this update clearly doesn’t use it. Library access and perusing is absolutely painful.

MY husband and I HATE, HATE the ROKU UPDATE. We are thinking of replacing it. We are looking to finding something as I am typing this.
Also my family, my children house holds are also thinking of doing the same thing which are over 10 household. WHY DIDN’T YOU LEAVE THE WAY IT WAS. IT WAS USER FRIENDLY AND PERFERCT. One of my sons has 31 friends that he encouraged to use Roku Plex tha are looking to replace PLEX.

This Roku update is horrible to the point I would like to try something new. Suggestions? If you use Plex on your computer nothing has changed. This Roku version sucks and is not user friendly at all. Did they totally forget a good part of their following uses it to link with their computer? Did they try this with groups before launch?
1. We lost playlist from being a quick access tab to scrolling through multiple screens to find them. Totally takes away the use of my music library. Why don’t you offer Plex Amp like you have on the Android on the Roku to resolve this? Still would like everything under one platform. To use a playlist that took hours to make is now wasted time.
2. When you look for movies actors and what else they stared in, it ignores if it is in your library to watch. Funneling to their website to watch it with commercials. Before if I didn’t have the movie this was a great option. Now I’m so annoyed I watch it somewhere else without the commercials.
3. You could access your personal library when you go on an artist or actor from screens tied to it. Go directly in.
4. You were able to keep your tab up for your libraries. Now you have to go through Plex suggestions and multiple click through crap to get to your movies. Annoying.
5. The tab across the top go against the normal set ups for any app. There is a reason for this. People like normalization of things.
Just a horrible upgrade and snub to people who have been around since the beginning. People took a chance and paid for a lifetime pass to allow them the money to grow the platform. Then make a huge functional change. Do you think your going to compete with Apple, Netflix, Disney or Paramount? You had a chance with your base telling people to use your product.

I thought I’d check in to see if the Plex maintainers had considered their fee paying customer’s feedback on how awful the new UI is. Sadly, Plex doesn’t seem to care less about what their customer’s thoughts are, they just belligerently continue to polish the recently released Plex app turd. Sadly, after years of Plex use I’ve jumped ship.
