Hello everyone,
Recently i bought a new tv, Samsung AU9000, and after installing the Plex app i face this problem:
I start a Movie and the default selected language is Italian, but the real language that a hear is English (2nd track), if i try to switch english and back to italian still remain English.
I’ts appen for the 80% of my library.
On other devices (Smartphon, tablet) and one other Samsung TV everithing work fine.
How can i solve this problem?
Plex server is on a Synology NAS
The client version on the TV is 5.25.3
The platform Version on the TV in 6
I have just experience the same issue but with version 5.29.1
The audio language was suppose to be danish, and not subtitles.
But in reallity it playes english , with danish subtitles
If I remove the “allow direct play” the PMS will do a transcode, but use direst stream, and for some reason this solves the problem
I wonder if that audiotrack you guys are trying to play is maybe a DTS Track?
Samsung TVs after 2017 don’t support DTS anymore.
In which case it has to be transcoded to AC3, AAC or any other supported format.
But this is “only” in case your Samsung TV Model is from 2018 and onward.
alle of them are AC3, AAC, - it is only a problem when there are multiple audio tracks - it looks as if its ignores to choose a other track, than the first
I could reproduce that behavior on my Mom’s Samsung TV (2016) but only with Movies that had more than one version on my Plex.
I checked the Movie entry (on PMS) via “Media Info” and i saw that i had 2 versions for the same movie. That would result in that strange behavior on my mom’s TV.
For me personally, there is actually i reason why i keep both versions.
So i decided to use the function “Split apart” on Plex… which solved the problem (at least on my mom’s TV).
I’ve got similar issue but with devices based on android tv. When I play movie with polish audio track I have english track, when I choose english DTS track I have polish track. Checked with VLC player and the track are correct there.
Samme issue here. 2021 QLED. It only plays first language if file has multiple audio languages/tracks. I can change language, and it confirms so in track settingen, but still plays first language. I have a 2018 Samsung tv too - no problems there. Strange…
I have the same problem on a QN95A. After inquiring, there is no uncompromising bug fix.
I tried disabling direct reading. indeed it works but the quality is no longer the same and cutting corners on the quality when you know the screen…
I have another solution, and that’s what I’m doing. Use MKVToolNix Gui v64. It will allow you to remake the .MKV file with the audio/subtitle track you want. tutorial here: Présentation du logiciel MKVToolNix GUI - YouTube
SAME PROBLEM FOR ME, impossible to have a real change of audio tracks / languages on PLEX application on SAMSUNG TV. There is a list of the different possible languages for a MKV file, but the change does not really happen. This can be effective by turning off Direct Playing but the file lecture is bugging then (streaming from my Synology) …
We can see in this forum, and all other websites, this problem has not been solved in 2 years ! (we can see so old message mentioning this same issue)
Please, PLEX TEAM/EMPLOYEES, see our messages and work on an update to solve this problem. Even you cannot, just tell us you cannot!
I don’t want to use MKVToolNix or any other software just to change default language on my MKV file. We want you to be as perfect as the platform you created.
Thank you in advance for any for your answer Plex Team
