I am having this same issue. To be clear the issue is isolated to when transcoding “TrueHD to AAC”. When playing the AAC track (Direct play mode) the issue is not reproducible.
Hopefully this will get fixed soon…
Setup:
PMS: 1.16.5.1544 (Synology NAS - 64bit)
Plex for Samsung: 4.1.1
Tizen: 2.4.0
TV: Samsung KS8000 (55’’)
I checked again the behaviour of plex for samsung. I exclude it’s a network problem: tried wired and wifi connection (5ghz), same result.
At the same conditions I used plex app on xb1x, no buffering issue during transcoding audio stream. Unfortunately xb1x app is worse than the samsung counterpart. It has much more limitations, for example about video codecs (I have some movies 4k H264 transcoded to 1080) and DTS passtrough doesn’t work.
So at this time I have two choices, both with bugs.
I don’t want to setup a third solution based on kodi, again.
Could you provide me with a feedback? Is there anyone working on this issue?
Tizen 2.4.0, Samsung UE55KS7000, Plex Client 4.1.1 and Plex Server 1.16.3.something. Using the exact same file as @AliveKiller I also get skipping when TrueHD is transcoded to AAC. From their video clip it also seems to happen at the exact same place (and plenty before that also).
No idea.
DTS-HD MA 5.1/7.1 is Direct Play.
Not sure. I’ve had the issue since loading up 4K content but have had AC3 5.1 to fallback to so didn’t really bother me.
DTS plays fine. Only relates to True HD audio. I really don’t know if this worked in older server versions because True HD is not an old format… Please fix this. Only Tizen related here. But thats every new Samsung TV…
