I have exactly 1 recording scheduled. The system is idle, not streaming or recording anything else. It fails to record EVERY time. The logs say:
Oct 16, 2019 20:00:25.964 [0x7fae52ffd700] WARN - [E] http_streamer_t::handle_read: read_error: End of file (2)
Oct 16, 2019 20:00:25.964 [0x7fae537fe700] WARN - [E] http_streamer_t: http write error
I can watch live TV from the guide. I can click record on a live show and it will record and show up in “TV Shows”. It’s not a file permission problem. It’s evidently not an obvious tuning problem.
It timed out while tuning the channel. I gave up on my Dual and bought a newer model.

I get this behavior every once in awhile too. One thing I see is that Plex does not retry any, it just gives up and closes down the process as shown in the log. I have not been able to find a setting to turn this kind of ECC on, so I don’t think it exists but probably should.
That’s really unfortunate and disappointing. Certainly some sort of retry wouldn’t be too much trouble to implement. Even making it conditional on the type of tuner hardware might be helpful, if these older models have gotten a bit too “dusty”. I guess I’ll look at upgrading the dual.
