it would be great if the search engine of plex would be able to search in description of a movie and especially for TV show. if not by default we should have a checkbox somewhere in the setting to be able to do it.
i have a couple of tv shows and documentaries that i record for archiving purpose and often, i search for a subject i know they covered, but i don’t know the title of the episode, so i search a keyword that i know will be in the description, however i never got any result from that. I think it would not be too hard to ad that and would get a big quality of life improvement.
This is my biggest and only ask of Plex. I’m a 6-year pro-user and it’s maddening that I can’t search descriptions. Is there any hope this will get added? Are there work around that anyone knows of?
Especially for big collections this feature is a must. I want to type some infos and get this episode I am looking for. At the moment I do have to click through all the episodes or google it. This is not the way it should be, is it?!
I’m not sure if the function doesn’t exist, but I couldn’t figure out how to search for a term present in the summaries of certain films.
I’ve tried using the advanced filters but I can’t find an option: “summary” contains ‘xxxxxxx’.
For example: I’d like to find all the “James Bond” movies on my server, the only native option seems to be to create a collection manually.
Is this possible? If not, I think it would be a good addition?
