I have been battling this problem for months and finally figured it out. If I disable the “Secure Connections” setting, Live TV now works outside my LAN. If “Secure Connections” is turned on, Live TV will not work outside my LAN on ANY quality setting. Only plays about 5-10 seconds then pauses. Disable the setting, flawless playback!
Does anyone have any solutions on a fix so I can keep “Secure Connections” enabled? Is this a Plex Bug?
My router is an Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite for reference.
This did not fix my Live TV freezing on my remote Android TV devices, but it did fix this wired lag where my PMS was crawling to a halt and would not load pages. It kept getting worse till it was about unusable. I tried restarting nothing seemed to fix it. Once I turned HTTPS off and back on it started working fine. Maybe this was due to an expired cert.

Normal content, TV show, movies, recorded Live TV seems to play fine on my remote device. They are being converted down. I cant do Direct Play, most of them have higher bitrates then my remote devices have the download speed.
Phone can do 40m down 7m up, this is what i am testing with today. The normal connection at the remote site is max 20m down. PMS is in a VM i have giving it 8GB of RAM it has been given 32 cores, Dul AMD Opteron 6272 2.1GHz
yes, on home network my .mp4 do direct play, my .mkv with subtitles do converting with direct stream. I quite often have two TV’s, one web app, one IOS device running at the same time.
Yes i have setup port forwarding on my Ubiquiti EdgeMax X. I started 4 transcoders. I have attached a picture. As a side note i could not play more then two transcoders on the same Chrome instance.
At first i tried to open four web apps on my PC. The first two worked fine but the 3rd would just lag, even with direct play. I am not sure why. so then i played the other two on my two different Android TV’s. Yes i can play four different movies all transcoding on different devices.
