I can only see what problem with the client is that you can log into plex when... Require authentication on local networks is used.
Unfortunately that requires myplex for sign in even for a local server so that isn’t on my list to do. You can setup the server so it doesn’t require signin for local access but does for remote.
edit : nevermind, didn't see how old the initial post was.
Hello,
Firstly I would like to apologize for asking questions that I'm sure an answered is buried in the forum.
Can you define "MyPlex" and its support? Some places in the wiki say its supported others say its not. I'm rather confused lol.
Also, do you support shared sections?
I would sideload this on my Sony GTV but to be honest I'm too lazy and would rather pay for it if I can use it for shared sections :).
MX Player and MX Player Pro are fully supported as external players. Meaning that you have the ability to have Plex metadata updated after exiting playback from MX Player. All Plex resume and position playback metada is supported
Unfortunately, MX Player won't work on your google tv, because it needs NDK support. If you want to try a different external player than the built in player, you can try ViMu for your Google TV, that player is also fully supported.
MX Player is only supported for Tablet or Android TV devices running Android 4.0 or higher.
Will Serenity show content from other servers (through a Plex "share")?
Will Serenity show content from other servers (through a Plex "share")?
The Plex Share requires MyPlex, ans Serenity doesn't support My Plex. It is only for locally network accessed content, not for accessing content on remote plex servers outside of the local area network.
