I have a question about the dreaded Futurama series. Is there anyway to remove the series name from appearing in each episode title.
My naming convention follows the current guides.
I looks like you have some embedded metadata that Plex is picking up.
Try lowering the Local Media Asset
agent to the bottom of the Agent list
See: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201035758-Set-the-Agent-Order
That worked for the most part. I was under the impression that you had to point the local media assets to a location for them to work. About 15 episodes are still labeled as they were but thanks.
You should probably do the Plex Dance to clear up the rest.
Additionally, your file/folder naming could be a bit off and that could also be causing issues
Did a full cleanup and it still doesn’t like them.
Can you post the folder and file names you used?
My convention currently is
Tv Shows/Futurama/Futurama - sxxexx - episode name. I had them in each season folder but it didn’t like that either.
Edit- After looking closer at the filenames in Plex its also not correctly displaying the metadata. There seems to be a discrepancy between using the dvd vs air date file naming from thetvdb on the forums. What would be the preferred way to fix this?
The show has to be in season folders, it won’t work otherwise. If you can’t follow the order that thetvdb has perhaps you could use the dvd order agent (3rd party) that exists. Haven’t used it myself but other has and found it quite useful. I think it is this one - https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/21141/dvd-order-agent
The DVD order agent worked very well. Wonder why Plex hasn’t included this bundle yet. The season folders doesn’t seem to matter much in my case tho. Thanks.
