Server Version#: v1.19.1.2645-ccb6eb67e Player Version#: any My plex server crashes regularly (at least 1x per day) and the service does not auto restart. The web page returns a 503 error. Would love to help but you turned off DEBUG logging (which is on by default). Turning it off doesn’t save space. Log buffer size is fixed at 50 MB. When you have errors again, and have turned DEBUG on, we might be able to see what lead up to the problem but as it is now, unfortunately, the logs are useless. ---

Something happened to the host. Look at this: 1400+ seconds? (over 20 minutes to complete a database request). The PMS is on ssd. The transcode directory is on a ssd. The media is on a local z2pool and a rclone mount. I’m not sure why the database request would take so long. It’s a dual e5-2660v2 w/ 128gb of ram. I’ve got 16 clients streaming right now and have 44gb of free memory. ---

in regards to HEVC, I do have some HEVC content but none of it should be transcoded as I’m not sharing that library and my local clients can direct play. ---

Hmm. I’m concerned. I am concerned because I used to run Fedora exclusively. I was OK until the latest Fedora 30 kernels came out. Everthing I have, including VMWare, stopped working reliably. What’s the kernel version? ---

Kernel: x86\_64 Linux 5.5.13-200.fc31.x86\_64 That would align with my experiences. We’re almost comparing apples & oranges here. 1.15.x was the new CI system. There were _lots_ of issues with that train from the compilation and library versioning perspective only. Re your issue: I am running Ubuntu 19.10, in anticipation of Ubuntu 20 “somewhat” catching up to what I left behind in Fedora 30. I did try Ubuntu 20.04 and its kernel, on a NUC8-i7 Skull Canyon, was unstable. when I upgrade, it will be sometime well after 20.04.1 - 20.04.2 LTS timeframe. My problem with the Fedora kernel (from 5.3 -\> 5.4) was that all the header files **changed**. I couldn’t even compile network drivers needed for VMWare anymore. If the headers change then we know the ABI has changed too. That is where the whole can of worms gets opened. Thoughts? How would you like to proceed? ---

My personal opinion, 1. Fedora has been “Big Blued”. 2. We may have just lost something that was once great. 3. At present, it needs to prove itself again to me. (I started with Fedora 4) 🙂 If you’ve got it nicely partitioned, I recommend (if not already done) 1. Plex “APPLICATION SUPPORT” dir on something other than the OS partition. 2. Copy the override file. 3. Back off the bleeding edge for now. 4. I know that 19.10 works. I use it for production here. I’m partitioned here such that I can swap out the OS without touching `/home` ---
