Server no longer accessible / Reclaim server not possible

Server Version#: 1.42.1.10060
Player Version#: 1.108.1.307-dd5b87aa

The Plex server is installed on my Synology DSM 720+ running DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 4.

The problem: without noticeable reason I am no longer able to access my Plex server after I haven’t used it for some time. The following error message is being displayed:

Not authorized

You do not have access to this server.

You may be able to claim it by choosing “Open Plex…” from the Plex menu in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray. For more troubleshooting tips, see our support article.

What I did to resolve:

  1. I followed the instructions in your support article:
    1. I tried to Access Special Server Settings as described in the support article: Editing the file Preferences.xml is not possible using the Synology Administrator account.
  2. I stopped and uninstalled the current Plex server, downloaded the latest version and did a manual install of the latest package.
    1. The issue persists.

Any idea what to do?

Reboot the NAS, then perform FAQ 31.
