i’ve tried to unistall uhd drivers through DDU but still plex won’t pick up hardware transcoding anymore very rarely is some file only encoding seems to kickstart
does anyone know if i can manually change plex settings on a registry string or somewhere in a way that it could be forced to pick the igpu
i’m really tired of seeing my cpu spike when hw should take the load off it for it

If PMS detects your hardware, it tests it to see if it will work. If it’s not using HW, then either it isn’t detecting your hardware, or it failed the test. There is no way to force it to use the hardware.
Check the logs to see what it says. Or upload your logs here so I can check it for you.
Do you have Enabled HDR tone mapping?
Mine got enabled by error and it was hit/miss with it activated.

It’s not supposed to be supported yet but quicksync w/HDR tone mapping would do HW transcoding intermittently.
it did for a day when reverting back to 1.29
now it only encoding with hw not decoding anymore unless i uncheck tone mapping , strange because its a year tone mapping work on the igpu…
yeah last year i did no bother… now not anymore…strange
also i stuck in a rtx gpu 4000 series to see , it never fails but it always decode with one gpu and encoding with the other , and sometime in reverse but the work load seems to be splitted between the gpu…very strange i told windows to ignore the nvidia but still…anyone’s thoughts?
I’ll need logs from 1.30.0 after reproducing playback so I can see what’s going on.
