Setting a custom value for "Originally Available" always results in date set to 1970-01-01

Let’s take the movie “Death on the Nile” (2022) as an example (I experience this with every movie and episode). The “Originally Available” date is set to “2022-02-11”. This is correct and everytime I update the metadata, it is indeed set to this date which is correct.

However, when I edit the movie and change the date to, for example, “2022-02-10”, click save and again click on the edit button, it now says that the “Originally Available”-date is “1970-01-01”.

To make it more clear:

  1. Movie is “normal” and has a date of “2022-02-11”
  2. I click on “Edit”
  3. I change the value of “Originally Available” to “2022-02-10”
  4. Plex automatically enables the lock
  5. I click “Save”
  6. I come back to the movie page and again click “Edit” for the movie
  7. When I look at the value of “Originally Available”, that I just edited, it is (always) set to “1970-01-01”
  8. I edit the movie to “unlock” the setting
  9. I refresh the metadata
  10. I click “Edit” and it’s back at “2022-02-11”

So there is obviously something going wrong. “1970-01-01” is the starting time of epoch, so my suspicion is that when clicking save, an error occurs behind the scenes which results at the value being set to epoch time of 0 a.k.a. 1970-01-01. But that’s just what I think.

Update to PMS 1.26.1 when it becomes available.

Updating to 1.26.1 partially fixes this though. There’s still a lingering issue where some previously edited dates, while stored correctly, will display a year of 1900. It’s only affected a small amount of my media. But enough that it’s still annoying as I have to edit the date to something else, save it, then edit it back in order to refresh both the complete date and the display year.

Mine doing that same thing for some TV show episodes that I am trying to edit the “originally available” date to 1982-10-21 from the TV Database website. As soon as I click save changes, it changes it back to 1969-12-31. Seems my version is 1.26.0.5715 and it says it’s up to date.
