Are there any specific parameters I have to setup to enable nvidia transcoding on plex official unraid docker? I had been using intel quick sync but for some reason it’s not working. for quick sync i had extra parameters set (–device=/dev/dri). I also have an nvidia quadro in my system. would like to switch to using that for plex but I’m not sure what parameters i have to add. ( I have the nvidia gpu driver installed and have been using the quadro just fine with tdarr)

EDIT: found a thread that you have to add –runtime=nvidia to extra parameters. Then add variable with key: NVIDIA\_VISIVBLE\_DEVICES and add your gpu value. And then add another variable with key NVIDIA\_DRIVER\_CAPABILITIES and value all. I did the above but still not getting it to transcode. My quadro even shows up as an option in PMS for HW transcoding. . On PMS version: 1.43.1.10576

Looks like there’s another thread with a bunch of people also experiencing transcoding issues. I was trying to use my nvidia quadro because the intel quick sync wasn’t working…. but maybe it’s just more of a server issue with the entire HW transcoding

#### 1.43.1.10576 as well. Can’t get quick sync i3 (8300) or nvidia transcode (quadro) to work.

on Unraid.

My quadro card shows up an as option for HW transcode in PMS.

@marklight Please do the following;

1. Confirm server [DEBUG logging](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/#toc-1) is enabled, VERBOSE logging is disabled.
SAVE if changes.
2. Restart PMS
3. Give it two minutes to start and stabilize
4. Start a playback which shows the issue
5. Let it play for 20 seconds
6. Stop the playback
7. Download the [server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/)
8. Attach the logs so I may see them.

Looks like your issue is different than this thread. I’m going to move your posts into their own thread.

@marklight can you repeat steps I called out above but select the Intel device? Capture the logs just like before and share them, please.

Can you also share the rest of your docker config options?

This was the rest of my nvidia setup.

I don’t see the option to select the intel device. just auto or the nvidia device. so i set it back to auto. Then i redid my docker config. removed the nvidia parameters and the two other nvidia specific settings. added the dev/dri settings in the docker and tried again.

I have Tdarr set up and it works just fine with the nvidia quadro.

@marklight Did you find a solution? I’m also having issues with transcoding with Nvidia GPU and the logs showed similar errors:
