# Shared Server authentication

Hi all,  
  
  
  
I’am also working on the plex (client) for Raspberry Pi and would like to use the shared contents but don’t know how to authenticate. When accessing a shared file I get the error “401 unauthorized”. I have my auth-code (do I need it?) but don’t know, how to authenticate with the server so that I’am authorized to access the file. Do I have to send a header or something? I tried to bind this get variable to the url

```auto

?X-Plex-Token=AUTH-TOKEN

```

  
  
but this don't work. (I saw this in some posts and thought maybe it could work).  
  
Can anyone help me?
