# Shield PMS and external SSD

Player Version#: beta latest

I use Shield pro 2020 with an Samsung T5 external SSD for plex metadata library. Content itself is on 2 mounted 8 TB NAS devices

My PMS on shield frequently crashes and in most cases the external hard drive needs to be repaired (plugging it into my PC). Then a Lost.dir is created with subdirectories of media and metadata.

Can this be prevented in some ways?
