Version du serveur # : 1.32.1.6999-7000 Version du lecteur # : 9.23.0.1746 using plex on a tv shield i have had a lot of playback issues that have been piling up for some time. indeed my sound output is done on a logitech z5500 set and for that I use the audio passtrouth option for ac3 and DTS. But since is the latest update (server and client) I realize when this optical passtrouth option is activated it is impossible for me to play files containing eac3 audio on my shield tv. it becomes very boring and was not the case before. It would be very appreciable that the application of the shield tv be reviewed so that the transcoding of the audio tracks is done directly on it because Kodi knows how to do this without worries. when I play these files via my phone and cast them on the shield it works, when I play these files via the plex plugin for kodj it works, when I play these files directly via kodi it works, it doesn’t it’s only in the official plex application that it doesn’t work… I then have to switch to hdmi passtrouth (but the sound is then not the one expected by my Z5500)… really disappointing that the only application that limits use at this point is the native plex application on shield tv, especially since this latter is quite able to read these files via other applications… For the moment I am therefore turning to the plex plugin for kodi in order to make the most of my library but I sincerely hope that it will be updated very soon because over time I have lost functionality in the plex application while I took a plex pass in order to make the most of it… If some of you have managed to get around this problem of reading eac3 tracks on the shield tv, please show up and help me solve this because I am tearing my hair out trying to find a suitable setting without result until there… ---

How is your equipment connected together? With my Shield, if I set passthrough = optical and enable DTS & AC3 in the Plex app settings, Plex Media Server transcodes EAC3 to AC3. Shield \<–HDMI–\> Denon receiver \<–HDMI–\> LG TV ---

My shield tv is directly connected to mh tv with hdmi, and my tv was connected to my Z5500 with optical. Shield tv → hdmi → tv → optical → Z5500 Try many things and many of this will need to transcode eac3 to play it, some settings made transcode impossible, and with it I can’ t read the file with eac3 audio. With continu my purchace and finally found a setting will let pass dolby digital and dts trough the Z5500 My actuall setting is passtrouth hdmi and I have to modifie my tv setting to let pass audio to optical (this isn’t my past setting but it work well for the moment, just dts hd or 7.1 was not read on my Z5500 and was not transcode with this parameter, not a big deal for my library) ---

I have Good parameter for shield tv, but now i have this problem with my other Player (smartphone). My old one (I use this one to play some movie at night) is not compatible with eac3 and the problem still the same that I have on shield tv… When i want to play à movie or épisode with eac3 audio it request to transcode the audio, but it fail and don’t let play this file… Don’t know why cause i do not have this problem before (for my shield tv or my smartphone) Really desapointing… What can I parameter to let me play eac3 audio or let my server to transcode this… ---

I Just disable the auto update of the library and all work now, really don’t understand why the library update can break audio transcoding, but it work si… ---
