# Showing the wrong movie

\<If providing [server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only [debug logging](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/#toc-1) should be enabled\>  
Plex playing the wrong movie - metadata seems correct and the file is also correct .  
Why is this happening.?

Would you mind elaborating a bit?  
You’re trying to play a movie from your library but another video is playing?

Can you click Edit (✏) on that item and check on the `Info` tab if there’s multiple files associated with this item?  
If it’s just one… can you confirm the file itself is the film you’re looking for (and not just some mis-named file with another movie)?

Thank you for getting back.  
Let’s say that I want to watch A Clockwork Orange - all the metadata and poster etc is correct but Plex shows Bagdad Cafe.  
When I check Edit and Info the movie file is the right one.

And the [Plex media info](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats) doesn’t show more than one file name?

Are you certain that what is starting to play is actually a full movie?

Are you starting the playback directly from the poster, from where you also fetched the [plex media info](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats)? Or did you press play on the poster in a differen tlocation, e.g. on the Start page of the app?

I’m quite sure that I startted the fulle movie - i’m starting the movie using the play button from the page with all movie info

Please enable [Debug logging](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/#toc-1) in the server settings.  
Do NOT enable Verbose logging.

Stop restart your server using the task tray icon.

Then wait ~5 minutes without doing anything in Plex.  
Then fetch the [server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) and post them here.

This is a log from a Terramaster Plex server, not from a Mac.  
Are you perhaps mixing up two servers, where one has a mismatched file, while the other has not?

Did you copy some files or settings from one to the other server?

If there are several servers in your account, you should be able to switch between them while in the settings menu.  
The left side bar has a drop-down selector which shows the currently-selected server’s name.  
Verify that you downloaded logs from the intended server.

While on the Home page of the web app, you should be able to scroll down the left side bar to the bottom, then click on MORE…  
This will show you _all_ servers that are in your account. If you have libraries on both of them, ensure that you are looking at the right server.

The Terramaster gives me the same problem. Here’s a log from Macos server - there is only three movies but same problem

These logs say that the last playback from this server was A Space Odyssey.  
Was this the inteded movie? Did it play correctly or was something else shown instead?

If the latter, could you please copy the contents of the complete [Plex media info](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats) **XML** into a post?  
(don’t worry, if it’s not showing after sending)

Have you ever copied a Plex server database, or anything from out the [plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/) to a different machine?

I am officially out of ideas.

Maybe a last one: perform the thorough database repair using this script: [GitHub - ChuckPa/DBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases](https://github.com/ChuckPa/DBRepair)  
If even that doesn’t help, unfortunately I suppose you will have to scrap the Plex database and rebuild the server.
