# Skip Ads in Recorded Shows

[Posted this before](https://forums.plex.tv/t/skip-ads-in-recorded-shows/899701). I found that I can reduce the length of time the start and end of a commercial is shown by changing the comskip.ini settings from 0 to 4. You’ll see the 5 sec countdown to 1 right before the commercial starts.

Change the Plex comskip.ini Settings from 0 to 4

```auto
remove_before=4 ; Set the amount of seconds to remove before ALL commercials
remove_after=4 ; Set to the amount of seconds to remove after ALL commercials
