Slower speeds from remote server

@ChuckPA has worked very hard and diligently with me on these issues. He has not tried to rush results and has “humored” me on many occasions on things to test.

We’ve both been working on other things while on the phone for hours (5+) at a time testing things and bounding ideas back and forth of things to test, ideas to help devs…

Kudos go out to ChuckPA.

He is an “employee” of Plex so for those that say/think the employees don’t get involved in support or work with customers to get results you should rethink this.

@“Stewie Griffin”

To clarify any misunderstandings anyone might have (I have no reason to withhold), I’m not a full time employee. If I were, I would have “Plex Employee” as my forum role. I am part-time employee as this is all I am can do at this time due to my own limitations.

Well who wants to try 1.5.1? Doesn’t look like there is anything in the change log that might address this though.

I can augment that by saying the Dev team does have a good handle on this now thanks to everyone’s great data. SUPERB effort!

I don’t know the details but what I makes me think they have it resolved (please do NOT quote me on this) but we won’t know until it’s worked its way from engineering to the rest of us.

1.5.1 has a bunch of other things, from what I do read, which are needed. Again, I won’t know those finite details until I see them.

I’ll do my best to keep everyone here informed as I can.

Thanks @ChuckPA

installing and testing 1.5.1 from work to the PMS at home now. Will update this one i test some files

No need to see if 1.5.1 fixes your speed issue. 1.5.1 was already in QA when all these issues were boiled up and submitted. If you look at the release notes, you will not find where there is anything related

We have been tracking reports of this issue, and believe we have found the root cause. We are now working toward’s a solution to this issue.

I cannot promise an ETA on a fix, but I’m hopeful it will be by the end of the month.

I also want to say a big thank you to @ChuckPA and @cayars for your help and support on this issue!

Note: Marking as “Answered” to bubble up this response. I will reply again with an update as soon as I have something to share.

That is great news @chrisallen!

LOL – Installed it an hour ago. But forgot to delete the extra Lan Networks entry in my haste. When I realized my error, the grandkids were already streaming stuff, so I’m gonna wait till they are at school and delete those entries and hope it’s fixed. Thanks for your work!

Boom Fixed for me!!!

Yay, it’s fixed! Thank you Plex dev team and everyone who helped.

Yup confirmed to be fixed. Thank you everyone for all your help!! @ChuckPA @cayars @chrisallen – you guys are awesome

While I was not affected by this, I clearly see this as excellent example of good team work and lasting support which results in fixing a nasty bug which is hard to lay-developer-hands-upon.

Nice work. Good feeling to see it happening. Kudos to @ChuckPA and @cayars as well as others involved. Blockbuster support

Awesome work Plex dev team, @ChuckPA and @cayars!

I haven’t been able to test myself yet but after all the positive responses I’m sure I’ll have a similar positive experience.

Out of curiosity, what was the cause?

What was the resolution here? I seem to have a similar problem but only with certain ISPs.
