# Smart playlists added to Collections

Hi,

I’m trying to create some smart playlists, however, whenever I create one, instead of it appearing in the _Playlist_ section, it appears in the _Collections_ section. Only standard playlists show in the _Playlist_ section.

I’m definitely selecting _Create Smart Playlist_ and not _Create Smart Collection_.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I’ve tried reproducing this today but failed to do so…  
Would you mind sharing some more details on where this is happening for you (e.g. what app / version are you using, on what version of PMS is your server running, for what type of media/library are you experiencing this…)?

Hi Tom, thank for for replying and apologies for taking so long to respond.

So, it turns out this is a user error on my behalf! I thought clicking on _Create smart playlist_ from the playlist menu would start the process of creating a playlist. What it does instead is bring up the filter options, then when it came to saving, I wasn’t paying attention to what was on screen and it was defaulting to saving as a smart collection. What I needed to do was click on the _Save As_ arrow and select _Save as smart playlist_. I have it all working now.
