I received this error on certain filetypes when trying to play, and found a specific codec was failing to install properly. The codec filename had a .tmp extension which was preventing the codec from working. I am also using a truenas sever (HexOS) and for some reason my SMB sharing wouldn’t work on windows, so I figured out how to navigate using the shell to remove the .tmp extension. This is not a skill I have without Googling so I am posting it here to help others and save the info for myself in future.

The error message:

The fix (your own filepath and filenames will have to be substituted):

I hope this helps somebody.
