First, I keep my server up-to-date, so my server is rarely updated more than one or two days after the new version is available. One of my friends complained today that his LG OLED55B6P-U Smart TV was unable to connect to my server. Tautulli shows that he last used it to play something 10 days ago, but the _Authorized Devices_ list found under my Plex server’s settings doesn’t show his TV **AT ALL**. The list includes things back for several MONTHS up through a few hours ago, but his TV is strangely missing. Can anyone explain why this might be so? ---

Thanks, I must’ve missed that announcement. I have my server set to _Prefer_ secure connections. In my mind, that means it will still accept an insecure connection, but it will try for a secure connection first. Am I incorrect? I will let my friend know that he might need to hunt through the Plex App settings to find the connection security setting and change it in his app to **insecure** or whatever the actual name of that setting/value might be. When you say “_remote_” users do you mean people connecting across the internet or people who are using their own ID to log in and required an invitation from you to access your server? When I log in from my office or a friend’s house using my own account (and my parents, who also use my account so that they may use my Plex DVR) all of those devices are listed as **Authorized Devices** despite none being on my private home network. My friend’s devices (TV, Playstation and one other type that I forget) had been listed in the past, but are no longer listed. Is this a recent change? If so, why would the PlexMasters remove a useful, security related feature? If not, why are some external devices listed and not others? Confusing. ---
