Sonos playback fails for most songs of my iTunes Music library

Dear all,

I recently reported that playback of music from the PMS on Sonos speakers does not work, and since the error message was "connection lost" I suspected that it was due to networking problems. It turned out that playback does work, but not for all audio files. What are the requirements for playback, or which audio files are supported and which don't? Is there also a possibility to enforce transcoding of audio files on the local network?

Well - I converted all m4a files from my library using ffmpeg (aac 256k) and now all works nicely.
