# Sort playlist by date Aired

Hi All
I was hoping there was a way I could order my playlist (all the DC tv shows) into date aired. Does anyone know how/if its even possible?

Create a smart playlist.
1. Add the shows you want in your playlist to a single collection, in your TV show section edit the show (with the pencil icon) and select the **Tags** option on the left then enter a **Collections** tag (in this case you could make it “DC Universe”). Save those changes and do the same with the rest of the shows.
2. In the TV shows section, change the view mode from **Shows** to **Episodes**.
3. Apply a filter for the **Collection** you added earlier. From the side bar (hamburger menu) hit the **New Filter** option, choose **Collection** and then chose the collection you want.
4. Go back to the root of the side bar menu and change the order to **Air Date**.
5. Hit the **Add To Playlist** button in the sidebar.
You now have a playlist ordered by air date that will update automatically when any content in this collection is added or removed.

Air date sort doesn’t work by episode. Even when viewing episodes and sorting by air date, plex will still group by show. Sorting just doesn’t work by air date.
