Server Version#: Synology NAS X19+ Player Version#: Newest Media server version installed. Hey Plex support, Would it be possible to specify the specific Public Ip you would like to use to remote access? Settings/Remote Access It automatically detects my public IP. But I run multiple gateways on my server. When I connect the server to a VPN Connection, it automatically chooses the VPN IP. instead of my own public IP Adress. My public IP Adress is still fully accesable. So in my case it would be amazing to have a function, where I can specify what WAN Ip I would like to use. Then I can have full Plex access, even thou my Server reaches out on the web with another IP address. Is that function Allready made? Or would it be possible to implement? The problem is that when you enable a VPN interface on a host it becomes either the default route for all traffic or the route for a specified list of networks. You’d typically want all your Internet traffic to route over the VPN, or else you’re using it for access to another very specific network (usually a secure remote corporate or university network). I’m guessing your VPN is to mask your internet traffic from your ISP or else pretend to be somewhere else in the world, in which case you’ll be using it in the all traffic/default route mode. It’s very difficult to tell one application to route all it’s traffic down Interface A but every other application to route down Interface B (we call this policy based routing). Even binding PMS to a specific interface on your server host will not fix this, as initialising the VPN interface will tell your IP stack that it is now the default route, and you can only have one default route. One thought is that you could virtualise PMS, bind it to a spare ethernet interface on your Synology box (if you have one) and connect that direct to your LAN. This way you’d bypass the TCP/IP stack of the Synology host and whatever routing policies it has in place 🤔 ---

Hey Gary! Thank you for a very nice answer! \<(’’,)\> Well “Interface A” & “Interface B” is both active, and i can access my server directly on its domain. if i f.ex. type “[MyDomain.Synology.me:32400](http://MyDomain.Synology.me:32400)” i get routet directly to my Synology box Plex Server. Works on any internet browser, from any location!. But if i go trough the App. Or try Plex.tv and then “Launch”, i have no access. So i feel like, if i could just specify the WAN IP & Port, I should be able to come directly trough on Plex.tv & Apps as well. (Which is full accessable) Then you mention it should be able to Virtualize the PMS, and then get around the Routing problem. How whould you do that? Install PMS on another computer, and then “Network MAP” the Folders from the NAS Server, and then have the computer run the PMS instead? or what do you imagine? 🙂 And… If that’s your idea. Is it even possible to map “local Network Drives” to your library from another PMS. Aslong as they exist on the same network? (Yes i use my VPN, to hide my traffic & be as anonymous as possible. Don’t like the feeling, of others can possibly acces to traffic. OpenVPN Connection) Best Regards ---

I have a similar issue. Not with a VPN but a second adapter. It chooses the wrong one! ---

Thank you Otto Kerner. I actually did solve my problem, another way around. But now I have a secondary solution, if the problem occurs again. I have Allready testet the function you mention, and it seems to work proper! Which is awesome! 😊 Thank you for nice support, and have a great day. 😊👌🏽 (with advantage, this option could be mentioned in the “remote acces” menu. Now that it is “kinda” related, if not much) ---
