I do have them running side by side, on multiple systems. I think it depends on how Linux savvy you are tbh. I’ve been using it for over 20 years and take a lot of the configuration for granted. So at the risk of going off on a tangent: If you want something that just works on your Pi, I’d recommend [Ropieee](https://ropieee.org/) - it has Roon, upmpdcli, and Plexamp - all setup to run as an appliance (set and forget). If you want to go DIY then I’d suggest starting with a good foundation like [Armbian](https://www.armbian.com/)/Ubuntu server. The upmpdcli developers maintain their own Ubuntu PPA which makes installation & updates a breeze. Then there’s [moOde](https://moodeaudio.org/) which is a good middle-ground imo - comes with everything you need pre-installed but lets you tinker too. With anything beyond Ropieee, I’d recommend looking at the [ArchWiki](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Main_page) for configuration help, their pages on [MPD](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Music_Player_Daemon) and [ALSA](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture) will be particularly helpful when setting up your sound device.
