# Stuttering from HDHR to Plex

Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun Connect Duo HDHR5-2US
Guide/Lineup name: Whatever plex found automatically
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: 20.3 “H&I”, 50.2 “Antenna TV” Northern VA region (but possibly others too)
I’m experiencing an issue where recorded TV (and myabe some Live TV) seems to be “stuttering” intermittently (plays 1 second, stop 0.5 second, repeat). I believe it is on the “incoming” side because the recorded DVR files have the stutter in them even if I pull the .ts recording onto a computer and play it with VLC.
I don’t think its a resource limitation on the server because I’m able to watch other content (like makemkv ripped DVD content) from the server just fine. I’m also not seeing much CPU utilization (under 25% on the highest used CPU core) on the server during recording or playback (these are SD 480i channels, server has 4 cores of an Intel Xeon E2176G and 8GB RAM mostly free/unused allocated for Plex).
I don’t think its the HDHR because I can watch TV directly from it (either the HDHR app or VLC) and it has no strange artifacts or stuttering.
I don’t think it would be my network, which is all gigabit from the HDHR to the switch to my Plex server.
I’m at a loss as to what to debug next.
